  • Amy Waylett

    RYT-2oo, NASM-CPT, Owner

Amy opened Shapes of Yoga, LLC in April 2023. There was an opportunity to share yoga with the community and she took a chance! Amy took her living room practice to Studio 4 a few years ago, initially to learn more about yoga and gain some physical benefits. Amy received her RYT 200 at Studio 4 in 2022 and began teaching right away. Amy has always been an advocate of a healthy lifestyle – promoting physical activity, mental health, and proper nutrition – as she manages the daily demands of living with Type 1 Diabetes. Don’t be alarmed if you hear lots of beeping during your yoga practice with Amy, it’s all good!

She’s always willing to talk about blood sugars and insulin pumps, so don’t hesitate to ask questions. Amy has become a passionate yogi and enjoys sharing the yoga experience with the community and her friends and family.

Off the mat Amy has a MS in Healthcare Administration and works as a Project Manager for Radiology IT. She lives with her husband, 2 very active sons, 3 Labradors, 2 cats and a few chickens! Amy loves being outside, feeling the sunshine on her soul, and maintaining an active lifestyle.

  • Erin Stevens

    RYT-200

Originally drawn to yoga as a means to deepen personal practice and self-connection, I quickly discovered a profound joy in sharing this transformative journey with others. What began as a personal quest evolved into a passionate commitment to guide and inspire students on their own paths of self-discovery and growth.

As a yoga teacher with over a year of experience, I pour my heart into crafting yoga flows that are more than sequences—they are intentional journeys from start to finish. Each class is meticulously curated, from the preparatory poses to the peak posture, harmonizing seamlessly with music that amplifies the class’s intention. I believe in the power of aromatherapy to anchor our practice, closing each session with scents that reflect the essence of what we’ve cultivated together.

Off the mat, I bring the same principles of intention and emotional resonance into my work as an interior designer. Just as in my yoga classes, I strive to create spaces that nurture and reflect the best version of each individual’s lifestyle. Whether guiding a yoga practice or designing a home, my goal is to empower others to connect with their true selves and live authentically.

Join me on the mat to explore the transformative power of yoga and discover how it can enrich your life both on and off the mat. Let’s create a space where intention meets action, and every breath leads us closer to our best selves.

  • Kristen Strock

    RYT-200

Kristen’s Yoga journey started as a teenager following her Mom’s Yoga DVD’s and she fell in love with the breath/movement combination. Kristen and her Mother began practicing together and loved going to local studios as well as the Kripalu Center for Health and Wellness in Massachusetts. After her first visit there she realized she wanted to dive deeper and learn all she can to be able to share Yoga with others.

She then enrolled & completed her Foundations 200 hour Yoga Teacher training under Michelle Pollard at Studio 4 in Schenectady on 3/26/23. Through teacher training and her experience instructing Taekwondo, she began to realize her true passion and purpose in life is to teach and help guide others through the movement, breath, and body awareness she has seen so much benefit from in her own life.

For her, the union of conscious breath & movement for mind/body/spirit awareness is where the magic happens. Also, the focus on strength and mobility that yoga provides is a perfect complement to any sport or other activity you take part in. Her goal is to create a peaceful, safe, inspiring, and fun atmosphere where students can move, explore, and connect to their breath and bodies.

In her classes she combines strength, breath, and mobility work in a dynamic Vinyasa Flow style. She brings the spiritual and physical attributes of Yoga together in a blend that anyone can enjoy. Classes are set to music that help students have fun, connect to themselves, and to their practice in a deeper way. Her background in dance, music, taekwondo and yoga combined help her create fun classes that are a good workout, yet leave you mentally lighter and rejuvenated.

In her spare time outside the studio, you will find her reading books, cooking, going to concerts, playing piano/guitar/singing, practicing and teaching Taekwondo at In Nae Sport in Glenville, and spending time with family and friends.

Without students there are no teachers, and I am honored to get the chance to be a part of your Yoga practice, and I can’t wait to meet you on the mat!

  • Katie Bodnaryk

    RYT-200

Katie has had a passion for fitness since she was very young, especially for running. From being on the track team in high school, cross country team in college, running in road races here and there and hitting the pavement in her free time to get in lots of long-distance miles. It was always her way of releasing stress, clearing her head and creating space for herself.

In 2022 Katie decided to join a beginner yoga class offered by the adult continuing education program through the BHBL community. It was there that she met her instructor and now owner of Shapes of Yoga in Burnt Hills NY, Amy Waylett. From that point on Katie was then introduced to Studio 4 in Schenectady NY. After taking many yoga classes she decided to go for it.

Katie completed her RYT 200-hour Yoga teacher training under the owner and instructor Michelle Pollard in April of 2024. Throughout her journey with yoga Katie has become a true believer in the benefits of deepening the connection between our mind, body, spirit and breath.

Katie has a bachelors in early childhood education and masters in special education. Her passion for teaching and love of fitness and yoga is the perfect blend of teaching from her heart. Katie is a kind gentle soul whose caring and compassionate nature brings something truly special to her classes.

During Katie’s yoga training she was inspired by three simple words given to her by her instructor “Give yourself Grace”. Those three words have stuck with her ever since and became rooted into her daily yoga practice. So, if and when you take a class with Katie, she will always be there to remind you to take a breath, and give yourself grace both on and off the mat.
