
Class Descriptions
Vinyasa:
The focus of this class is to connect your breath with continual movements and flows of yoga poses. After warming up, the joints and muscles will maintain movement in seated, standing and balancing sequences. The Vinyasa Yoga class is fun, challenging and provides for an opportunity to destress. The class is suitable for all levels and abilities. Come enjoy some good tunes while you work on building strength and flexibility.
Slow Flow:
Slow flow is a slower paced form of vinyasa yoga which includes a longer warm up and longer cool down, combined with traditional yoga postures that flow from one to the next and are held for longer during the sequence. This class also ends with a longer savasana and meditation. Slow flow connects movement with breath emphasizing mindful engagement, body awareness and ease through each pose. Moving slower helps students have time and space to explore alignment and deepen each stretch as they connect with their body. The overall energetic intensity of this practice is reduced, making for a relaxing and calming practice that is beneficial and accessible for students of all levels. Great for beginners!
Serene Surrender:
Yin / Restorative Yoga - Combining two styles of healing yoga, this slow-paced 75-minute class begins with a Yin practice to stimulate the connective tissues and fascia. Poses are held for longer periods of time to invite a range of intensity while maintaining sensation in specific areas of the body. Yin yoga improves joint health, relieves stress, and challenges students to endure, sharpening mindfulness and focus.
Mat Pilates:
45-minute classical mat Pilates focusing on building core strength and stability. A low impact workout using your own body weight for resistance, you will be carefully guided through mindful exercises to isolate your core muscles with stability and control. This class is appropriate for all levels; no prior experience in Pilates is required.
HIIT:
HIIT (High-intensity interval training) 45-minute classes uses a variety of exercise equipment, including resistance bands, free weights, kettle bells, etc., HIIT is a type of workout, or fitness training, that alternates between doing bursts of intense exercises and recovery periods. Weights and exercises are adjusted according to the level of each class participant. This class is suitable for all levels as weights and exercises can be adjusted or modified.
